The Venetian Castle of Agia Mavra

It is one of the most important sites in Lefkada. It was built during the 13th century by Ioannis Orsinis in order to protect the island.

Built on a hill in the west of the town of Lefkada, the monastery of Panagia Faneromeni, founded by Sosiona, the first bishop of Lefkada.


Archaeological Museum of Lefkada

The collection of Lefkada’s Archaeological Museum includes discoveries from tombs in Nydri, cemeteries of ancient city of Lefkada and from other various regions of the island.


Public Library

The public Library that is lodged in a neoclassic building, allocates great number of forms (books, etc.) and has a rich collection of post byzantine pictures, mainly Eptanisian style, such as the icon painters Doxara, Patsara, Roussou, who come from Eptanisa

Haramoglios Special Lefkadite Library

The “Haramoglios” Special Lefkadite Library includes tens of thousands of books and printed matter, newspaper articles, magazines even post cards with Lefkada. The collection is in the Guiness book of records.
